Silent Hill 2 Remake: Date & more

We recently received a rumor about a PS5 Games Showcase in May, where, among other things, the release date of the “Silent Hill 2” remake would be revealed. The rumors about the impending announcement of the release date are being fueled by those responsible at Bloober Team.

While Sony Interactive Entertainment remains silent about the rumors, the developers of Bloober Team are currently fueling rumors of an upcoming announcement.

In the current annual report, studio CEO Piotr Babieno gave us a short update on the remake of “Silent Hill 2”. On the one hand, Babieno pointed out that the remake is now in the final phase of its production.

However, it didn't stop with this status update. Instead, the CEO of Bloober Team added that the release date should also be announced shortly. “We are in the final stages of work on Sillent Hill 2. We expect to announce a release date and platforms on which the game will appear soon,” said Babieno.

At least regarding the platforms, Konami made things clear shortly after the official announcement of the “Silent Hill 2” remake. Konami confirmed that the remake is making its way to the PC. In addition, the console version of the new edition will be released exclusively for the PS5.

Konami only left it open over how long the console version will be available exclusively for Sony's console.

As recently leaked, the developers apparently took the community feedback on the design of the protagonist James Sunderland to heart. After some players complained that the appearance in the first trailer differed too much from the original from 2001, Bloober Team apparently made improvements.

A current age rating by the ESRB shows that the remake of “Silent Hill 2” will be based on the original in terms of gameplay. Once again we explore the eerie game world from the third-person perspective and defend ourselves with pistols, shotguns, rifles and knives.

In addition, it shows the rating on scary monsters like the iconic Pyramid Head, mannequins and other creatures as well as a real horror experience with all kinds of scares.
