New PC Video Game from PlayStation Studio Won’t Need a PSN Account from PS4 and PS5 Players

The upcoming release of Ghost of Tsushima on May 16 on PC has raised questions about possible requirements similar to those of Helldivers 2 regarding the connection to the PSN. To address these concerns, the development studio behind Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch, recently clarified the situation. On X, the official account confirmed that players will not need to log in to PSN to enjoy Ghost of Tsushima's single player mode. However, access to the Legends multiplayer mode as well as the new PlayStation PC interface will require a PSN account.

Thank you for your opinion. Just so you know, a PSN account is required for online multiplayer and to use the PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the single player game.

A new policy that is causing debate

The reaction of PC gamers to this new policy from Sony has been varied.
