Warzone 2: Hidden audio setting lets you hear footsteps precisely
You need this setting: To adjust the audio settings for Warzone 2, you have to navigate to the sound settings on your PC. We list the individual steps below. Then you have to go to the audio settings of Warzone 2. Then select “PC” in “Audio Mix”. Turn the overall volume to 100 and adjust the dialogue volume to around 40. You can find all other settings in our article on the best audio settings for Warzone 2.
- Go to the settings via the speaker icon “Sounds”.
- Select “Playback”.
- Scroll down the bar to “System”
- If there is no green tick there yet, set it and set it as the primary output source
- Right click on “System” and then on “Properties”
- Select “Enhancements” and then click on “Loudness Equalization”
- Then under “Settings” slide the slider to “Short”
What does the setting do? Roughly speaking, the audio setting compensates for the puny human hearing. We can only actively perceive one frequency. You may know this from movies when the sound effects are so loud that you can barely hear what is being said. The “Loudness Equalization” audio setting in Warzone 2 ensures that all frequencies are equally loud. This makes the footsteps sound louder and the explosions and other background noises a little quieter. This could help you dodge the weapon with the “Fastest TTK” in Warzone 2.
Is this setting also available for consoles? Unfortunately not. If you’re playing Warzone 2 on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One, you don’t have the option to make a comparable audio setting. In this case, you rely on Infinity Ward to quickly fix the audio problems in Warzone 2. Until then: Turn off crossplay.
