The identity of the leader of the Lockbit hacker gang has just been revealed by law enforcement. This collective of cybercriminals is responsible for cyberattacks against the Corbeil-Essonne hospital and more recently, the Cannes hospital.
The police had maintained the suspense for 48 hours. This May 7, the FBI, the UK National Crime Agency and Europol reveal the identity of the world's most wanted cybercriminal, the leader of the Lockbit gang. The police revealed his identity on the hackers' former darknet platform, now seized, as well as in a press release. The British police declare on site to have unmasked and punished Russian national Dmitry Khoroshevadministrator and developer of the LockBit ransomware group.

The identity of Lockbit's leader has long remained a mystery. His gang is now the most feared cybercriminal organization in the world. “LockBitSupp” was a regular presence on hacker forums, where he criticized other gang leaders.

More than 7,000 between June 2022 and February 2024 were conducted by Lockbit. The five most affected countries are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and China.

Last February, an international law enforcement operation called Operation Chronos managed to neutralize part of LockBit's infrastructure. The police were able to access the hackers' internal files, and thus discover their identity.
