Find & rescue Paladin Danse
As you make your way south to Diamond City, you'll find something along the way a radio broadcast on the military frequency AF95. This provides bitter support in the fight against wild ghouls who are attacking the Cambridge police station. This will then be marked on the map and you can go there.
When you arrive at the station, you end up in the middle of the attack of the wild ghouls, which are fended off by Paladin Danse and the soldiers of the Brotherhood of Steel. Help with this and then talk to Paladin Danse inside the police station. You can then accompany him on a quest, at the end of which he will offer himself to you as a companion. You can also join the Brotherhood of Steel as a recruit.
Strengths and weaknesses of Danse
When it comes to armor, you don't have to worry about Paladin Danse. His power armor gives him one of the best damage resistances of all Companions and can take a beating. He also has the “Righteous Rule” laser rifle an optimal killing instrument. However, his mobility is limited by his armor and in hectic combat situations the paladin can sometimes get in your way.
Improve relationship
Danse is the one who recommends you as a member of the Brotherhood of Steel and is also a perfect military strategist. Accordingly, he prefers to let actions speak rather than words. He likes violent conflict resolution and has a positive effect on your relationship. However, you should always act courteously and honorably to impress him.

Paladin Danse can't do anything with pacifists. If you only ever look for a diplomatic solution, it will have a lasting, damaging effect on your relationship. If you constantly ignore the rules, this will also annoy the law-abiding soldier.

If you have impressed Paladin Danse with positive actions, you will gradually unlock more personal conversations that you can have with him. This goes so far that you can even enter into a relationship with him at maximum relationship level.
As a reward for reaching the maximum relationship level with Paladin Danse, you will receive the following skill:
Know your enemy: You permanently deal +20% damage against Wild Ghouls, Super Mutants and Synths.
If you go to sleep with maximum relationship while Paladin Danse is your companion, he will keep you company and you will get the following skill when you wake up:
Pillow talk: You will receive +15% experience points for a limited time.
