To start this quest “The Sea Monster” on Fallout 4, the first step will be to get to the Boston docks. If you don't really know where they are, don't panic, we've shown them for you on the map below.
Once there, speak with Donny Kowalsky who will tell you about a sea monster. Then go where the quest marker takes you and you will be able to enter a submarine, the Yangtze. There, you will come across a ghoul, Zao. Don't attack him, but talk to him.
Agree to help him repair his ship, remembering to ask him for a better reward three times. If you ever succeed in these persuasion challenges, you will be able to get your hands on a second unique weaponthe Sword of Zao once the quest is completed.
Head to Saugus Ironwork to repair the Yangtze
Now that everything is settled, you will have to go to the Saugus Ironwork level which again we have indicated to you on the map below. To make your life easier, we advise you to have first clean up the place during the quest “Trial by Fire”.
Otherwise, you risk finding yourself in the grips of the Le Forge sect. Once you have gotten rid of them, you will have to go at the level of the cooling cylinder to find a coil there. Once that's done, return to Zao.
Now all you have to do is restart the Yangtze and to do this, start by going down the stairs and going through the door at the bottom. Cross the canteen, then the dormitories and finally go down the stairs to reach the warhead room.
This is where the serious things begin since you will first have to get rid of the second in command of the Yangtze. Search it once eliminated and you will get your hands on the terminal password. Then collect the warhead which is located nearby.
Exit through the back door and unlock the door on your right, which will allow you to return to Zao. Talk to him and walk to the marker to insert the spool that you collected from Saugus Ironwork earlier.
Then insert the warhead and do it in this order if you don't want to end up in pieces! The reactor is working again and all you have to do is return to Zao to conclude this quest “The Sea Monster” and get your hands on a new unique item, the transponder.
