Mortal Kombat 1: Bloody Fatality included

With Homelander, another guest character will be appearing in the fighting title “Mortal Kombat 1” this spring. In a newly released teaser trailer, the developers give us a first look at the new addition.

As the developers at NetherRealm Studios announced before the release of “Mortal Kombat 1”, post-launch support includes, among other things, four guest characters.

After the Peacemaker was released at the end of February, the next DLC character is already in the starting blocks. We're talking about Homelander, the well-known supervillain from “The Boys”. NetherRealm Studios still didn't give the new addition a solid date, but they at least provided us with a short teaser trailer.

This gives us a look at Homelander and shows his fatality, which is unsurprisingly very brutal.

Developers are planning more content

As those responsible at NetherRealm Studios recently emphasized again, in addition to the DLC characters, further updates and content for “Mortal Kombat 1” are in the works. Regarding future support for the fighting title, Ed Boon recently stated that new classic outfits, additional cameo fighters and additional online features are planned.

In addition, the developers announced an extensive story expansion for “Mortal Kombat 1” at the end of last year. When this will appear is still unclear.

“Similar to Mortal Kombat 11, we will be releasing another part that will offer an even more extensive story,” commented Boon on the announcement of the story expansion.

In the past, Ed Boon has repeatedly reached out to the community and thanked them for their feedback. As Boon emphasized, in the best case scenario this should continue to be implemented. “We are very pleased with the reception that players have given Ermac and would like to remind everyone that there is much more planned for MortalKombat 1,” said Boon a few days ago.

“And there’s more to come: classic costumes, new moves, cameos, online features and of course secrets.”

“Mortal Kombat 1” was released in September 2023 for the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch. At the end of February, an update was released that supported crossplay.

This means that players can now compete against users on other platforms. It should be noted, however, that the Switch is excluded from crossplay for technical reasons.
