What is the impact of this update?

The announcement of Fallout 4's next gen update created a wave of frustration among modders. Although celebrated by players, it poses major challenges for creators. Indeed, all existing mods will have to be updated to be compatible with this new version of the game. This led Team FOLON, the team behind Fallout: London to temporarily suspend their work.

In an interview given to the BBC, members of the Fallout: London development team have expressed their frustration with the lack of communication from Bethesda. They stressed the importance of a prior conversation to avoid this type of inconvenience. Despite the difficulties encountered, they refused to openly blame Bethesda, but instead called for better collaboration and transparent communication in the future.

The last four years of our work may simply end. It's inevitable when there is this lack of communication. So I would just like them to have a conversation with us in the future. – explained Team FOLON in a video in response to this update

Fallout: London… The end?

The release date for Fallout: London currently remains uncertain. With the update available since April 25, developers must wait to see how their project can adapt to this new version of the game. They hoped to be able to launch Fallout: London two weeks after the series' launch on April 23. Unfortunately, with this unforeseen event, they will release their mod as soon as possible. It could therefore be delayed by several days, or even several weeks.

If this mod in particular is attracting the attention of the fan community, it is in particular for its promises: it is announced as one of the biggest mods ever developed for a Bethesda game. For the first time, players will be able to play outside the United States in London with no less than 15 boroughs, explore seven new areas and enter the 337 interiors which have been fully modeled for the occasion. We will also note the large number of new factions, weapons and customization elements as well as almost 200 new quests!
