As early as the early 19th century, the motto was circulating among the middle class: If you want to save a lot, Steam will get you there in no time.

Well, historians may rightly disagree with us. But the fact is: Sales on Steam are no longer the exception, but the rule. That's why we have lots of recommendations for you again today.

Games from Electronic Arts are the focus this time. We formed a circle in the editorial office and hit the keys together. The result is seven recommendations for titles that may not be insider tips, but they definitely have one thing: really good games!

genre: Third-person shooter | developer: Visceral Games | Release: February 2013 | Price: 3 Euro (80 percent discount)

Peter Bathge: Please don't hit! Yes, I know: “Why does this Bathge dare to recommend the worst Dead Space, the ruin of the series, this cover shooter tainted with co-op mode and an in-game shop that was no longer scary at all?”

And I answer: You are absolutely right, dear rage readers.

But Dead Space 3 was – don't knock it, remember? – not a complete disaster. And for the few euros it costs now on sale, you can definitely have a few hours of fun with it.

It's particularly suitable for co-op shooting, and for single-player fans there are actually inappropriate shooter passages against human opponents, but there are also some very impressive scenes in a vacuum and some effective shocking moments.

Titanfall 2

genre: First Person Shooter | developer: Respawn | Release: October 2016 | Price: 5 euros (84 percent discount)

Phil Elsner: Titanfall 2 deserved better. But sandwiched and crushed between the big new Battlefield 1 and a new CoD part (also with a sci-fi setting), the brilliant shooter became the big loser of the 2016 Christmas business. The deserved success failed to materialize and the Titanfall series came to an end prematurely End (if you ignore the release Apex Legends).

But this tragic fate doesn't change the fact that Titanfall 2 is still one of the best shooters money can buy! A coolly staged story campaign full of Wow!moments, the buttery-smooth movement with wall running or the powerful feeling when you're behind the wheel of a heavily armed Titan mech – Titanfall 2 set standards in the genre in many ways.

And thanks to an unexpected patch in 2023 and a loyal small community, you can finally have fun again in multiplayer after years of problems. In my opinion, for five euros you really don't have to think about it for long.

Battlefield 5 – Test Video: Is the magic of Battlefield 1942 coming back?

genre: Multiplayer shooter | developer:Dice | Release: November 2018 | Price: 7 euros (85 percent discount)

Tillmann beer: Battlefield 5 is still one of my favorite shooters to this day for one simple reason: Hardly any other game gives me such a cinematic and atmospheric battle experience.

It starts with the graphics, which are still excellent today. The detailed maps are beautiful to look at and can be broken down into individual parts in an impressive way.

When tank shells explode around me, artillery shells fall and the makeshift barricaded house flies in my face, it's incredibly exciting. Nearby explosions can even knock me to the ground with their shock wave.

But even when it's my turn, I have a lot of fun: If I control a tank together with the squad, I have to work well with the others in order to survive. At the same time, the larger tanks in particular feel like incredibly powerful, lumbering war machines that can deliver devastating blows.

In contrast to its successor, everything in Battlefield 5 is just right for me. And to this day you can still find an active community and full servers here.
