A new face in the cast of Mission Impossible 8

Still in full production, the next part of Mission Impossible is being kept very discreet for the moment. We still know little about this new project except that it corresponds to the second part of Dead Reckoning and that it could mark the end of the cinematographic adventures of agent Ethan Hunt and his team, as director Christopher McQuarrie had already suggested it.

That being said, we learned today that a new actress has joined the cast of this new film. And not just anyone, since according to Deadline, it is the rising Hollywood star Katy O'Brian who should come to lend a hand to Tom Cruise. The actress, known for some secondary roles on television in series Marvel: Agents of SHIELDThe Mandalorian or The Walking Dead, recently shared the poster for the queer thriller Love Lies Bleeding with Kristen Stewart. A striking role which has now earned him the favor of major American studios.

A project still kept secret

As said previously, Dead Reckoning part 2 still remains mysterious. We don't know anything about the plot yet. And if Katy O'Brian joins the mission, the rest of the cast is still uncertain. We do not know, for example, if Rebecca Ferguson will return for this part 2, even if the actress has left some doubt. In any case, the team should remain unchanged while Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Vanessa Kirby should return. It goes without saying, Tom Cruise is obviously there and also serves as producer alongside Christopher McQuarrie, director of the last three parts, who is once again behind the camera here. For now, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning part 2 is scheduled for May 21, 2025 in the United States. A late release date due to the Hollywood strike that occurred last year.
