Why is the GameStar test delayed?

“We are working hard to ensure that you all have the best possible gaming experience that we can deliver on Day 1 of Early Access,” writes Gennadiy Korol, co-founder of developer Moon Studios on X, formerly Twitter. That's why there is no keys for press and content creators before publication; all players are released into the world of No Rest for the Wicked at the same time.

Under these circumstances, we cannot offer you purchasing advice before or at the release as usual. But we will still do our best to a conclusion as soon as possible about the game on GameStar.de.

Allegations about the working atmosphere at Moon Studios

A Report from the website Venture Beat from 2021 accused the development studio of toxic statements by the studio founders Thomas Mahler and Gennadiy Korol. The research sources criticized the studio bosses' harsh, unprofessional tone and inappropriate jokes. Mahler and Korol denied the allegations in a statement to Venture Beat in 2021 and did not want to comment further when asked by GameStar.

This is how we test No Rest for the Wicked

GameStar author Dennis Zirkler is ready to start the Steam download of No Rest for the Wicked from April 18th at 6:00 p.m. and throw himself into the game for you. Our plan for the coming days is as follows:

  • On Friday, April 19th, Dennis gives a first brief summary of the game: How is the technology? Are there many bugs? Does the gameplay feel good?
  • start next week Depending on the scope of the early access version of No Rest for the Wicked, there will be another update or the complete test with a preliminary rating box.
  • At the same time, our video editor Jonas Gössling is also working hard to present you a test video as quickly as possible. That seems likely after the weekend.
  • You can also find it on GameStar.de around the release News about initial player opinions, possible problems as well as tips and tricks for No Rest for the Wicked.

No Rest for the Wicked deals with adult themes such as a plague and political intrigue. You explore the dark world of Sacra from an isometric perspective. A four-player co-op mode and PvP battles will be added later in an update.

During the early access release, the game costs just under 36 euros for two weeks, after which the price increases to around 40 euros. The final version will then cost even more.

So far, Moon Studios has not given any information about how long the early access phase will last, but there is already a roadmap: Among other things, further story chapters and map regions have been announced, including new boss opponents and equipment to find.
