Is Disney's next big billion-dollar hit coming? The recent past looked anything but rosy for the floundering Mickey Mouse company from the USA. Some of the animated films flopped brutally at the box office, and the once successful Marvel Cinematic Universe was no longer really convincing. The huge successes of earlier years increasingly failed to materialize. That should change this year, among other things a great bearer of hope could provide. There are now finally some great pictures to see.
Is Mufasa: The Lion King a sequel?
It's now been almost five years since Disney brought the live action version of the classic The Lion King to theaters. There were initially some skeptics who gave a CGI version of the animated hit little chance. But the doubts quickly disappeared, the film grossed almost $1.7 billion worldwide. That was just the beginning of a great success story.

Some time ago, Disney announced Mufasa: The Lion King, another live action film featuring the popular animal characters. But this is not a continuation of the story, but a prequel. The focus is on the adventures of the young Mufasa, in which the popular duo Timon and Pumbaa will also make an appearance. The starting signal in the cinema falls on December 20, 2024. But fans are already getting an impressive foretaste.
The first trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King
Shortly after releasing a brand new picture, Disney has finally the first official trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King published. It's “just” a relatively short teaser. But the excerpts are already there a lasting impression from the new live action adventure.
Not only the young Mufasa can be seen in the video, but also the wise monkey Rafiki and the duo with Timon and Pumbaa. Besides that The fans get to see some of the opponentsthat the future Lion King will have to deal with. Added an impressive soundtrackwhich seems to capture the original atmosphere of the Disney classic very well.
