Four Bethesda studios are closing at once. One of them is Arkane Austin, which released “Redfall” in May 2023. Those responsible already know what will happen next with the cooperative shooter communicated.

Short and sweet: There will be no further updates. Of course, the servers remain online so that owners of the shooter can continue to play. This is also absolutely necessary because of the online requirement.

A credit for those affected

Only on Sunday we reported on the owners of the “Bite Black” edition, who are still waiting for their promised content a year after publication. Nothing will come of this, as we now know. Because the planned content will be canceled due to the closure. Everyone affected is “entitled to the value of the upgrade” and can therefore expect a refund.

The edition mentioned cost 110 euros. This includes the Hero Pass, with which the developers wanted to introduce two more heroes. Alternatively, this pass was available for 30 euros.

Arkane Austin would like to thank everyone who has supported the studio over the past few years. Those responsible also point out that Arkane Lyon will continue to deliver immersive gaming experiences. “Marvel's Blade” is currently being created there after “Deathloop” was previously released.

“Redfall” managed just 56 points Metacritic. The user score was even more devastating at 3.5 out of ten points. Because of the weak launch it ended up hailing Mockery from several developer colleagues.

Incidentally, a PS5 version was once planned, but Microsoft did painted has. The Sony group definitely didn't miss anything, both because of the ratings and because of the support that has now been discontinued.
