Helldivers 2 Patch Notes: Update 1,000,302 changes a weapon and fixes DoT damage & scopes

On today's regular patch day the developers have that Helldivers 2 Patch 1,000,302 pushed to the servers. After the last major patch, it is more of a smaller update, but it still brings with it some important new features. The incorrect DoT damage was finally corrected, the scopes were adjusted correctly and a weapon and two enemies were adjusted. There is also a large truckload of bug fixes that fix numerous crash causes and annoying errors in the game. The complete Helldivers 2 patch notes for the new update 1.000.302 in German can be found below.

Helldivers 2 Patch Notes 1,000,302 Contents:

Weapon balancing

After numerous weapons were adjusted in the last patch, this time the developers have only chosen one gun, namely the popular R-36. Don't worry, it hasn't been nerfed, just adjusted so that friendly fire should no longer occur:

  • R-36 Eruptor:
    • Explosion damage has been increased by 40 and shrapnel has been removed from the explosion (this is to avoid cases where players randomly one-shot themselves or their teammates within a large radius of the explosion).

Enemy balancing

With the new Helldivers 2 Patch 1,000,302, the developers have slightly increased the range in which you can hear the screams of the Terminids and the gunships of the Automatons. In addition, the screamers are now a little easier to see, which should make it a little easier to perceive the dangers of the air units:

  • The viewing and hearing range of Shriekers has been slightly increased.
  • Gunship hearing range has been slightly increased.

Bug and crash fixes

Helldivers 2 Patch 1,000,302 focuses primarily on eliminating all kinds of problems. Many other causes of crashes were therefore found and eliminated, but the many display errors in the social menu were also fixed. On top of that, some issues that directly impact gameplay have been addressed, such as previously incorrect damage over time (DoTs), misaligned scopes, missing reinforcement stratagem, and so on. The list of bug fixes:

Gameplay bug fixes:

  • We fixed issues with the way damage over time effects were applied. This should resolve issues where only the owner of the network session could apply them and other cases where they were applied inconsistently.
  • Firing the Punisher Plasma while wearing a Shield Backpack no longer causes damage to the Helldiver.
  • Fixed issues where some weapon scopes were not aligned in first person.
  • The sound when using syringes no longer plays when interrupted.
  • Main commands with the “kill task” are now counted correctly. Previously, the entire squad's kills were counted once for each player, which meant the score was multiplied by the number of people in the mission; this has now changed.
  • Helldivers can no longer land on high rocks in Horde Defend Missions.
  • Helldivers can no longer land on beetle pillars in the “Disable Terminid Control System” missions.
  • Fixed an issue where the Reinforcement stratagem is not present if a Helldiver leaves the session before Ready and then rejoins the active match.

Crash fixes:

  • Fixed a crash that could occur if all players were dead in the “Disable Terminid Control System” mission.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when shutting down the game.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when exiting and re-entering the mission.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur at the end of cutscenes.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when entering missions.
  • Fixed a crash in the tutorial that could occur when alt+tabbing on PC.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when using beam weapons.
  • Fixed a rare crash that players could experience at startup when using a VPN.
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur if the player opened text chat while the stratagem menu was open.
  • Other general crash fixes

Social menu bug fixes:

  • PC players who add friends via friend codes will no longer appear as “Unknown.”
  • Fixed overlapping footers in menus.
  • Steam friends should now be visible in the social menu even if the friends list is not set to “Public” in the Steam privacy settings.
  • The list of recently played players now also includes players who join during operation.
  • Players can now unblock players who are not on their friends list.
  • Fixed the issue with empty friend names in the social menu.
  • Lobby privacy mode text updates immediately as changes occur.
  • Player names longer than 26 characters should now update correctly in the social menu.
  • Fixed an issue where non-host players could randomly kick others, including the host.

Other bug fixes:

  • The total purchased stratagems counter on the right side of the Robotics Workshop no longer shows 7 / 8 even though all stratagems have been purchased.
  • Fixed some issues related to Steam AppId errors when logging in.

Known bugs and issues

The developers have already eliminated a lot of bugs with the last major update (1,000,300) and this patch (1,000,302) also eliminates numerous problems. Accordingly, the to-do list is actually getting shorter, but there are still some known issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or that come from a previous version and have not yet been fixed. The devs are currently working on the following known (and hopefully soon fixed) bugs and problems:

  • Players may not have the ability to send, accept, or decline friend requests.
  • Banned players will not be added to the banned players list and will not be prevented from joining games.
  • Reinforcements may not be available for some players joining an ongoing match.
  • Helldivers may not be able to get up from a crouch when surrounded by enemies.
  • The game may crash if the player changes the text language during a mission.
  • There may be delays in the payment of medals and over-credits.
  • Enemies that bleed to death do not grant progress in the Personal Orders and Extermination missions.
  • Bow weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes miss.
  • The spear's aim is inconsistent, making it difficult to target larger enemies.
  • The Tactical Gear Beam can stick to an enemy, but it will be used at its original location.
  • Explosions don't break limbs (unless you get thrown into a rock).
  • Blue tactical equipment (like the Hell Bomb) will bounce and be repelled if you try to use it near an Automaton detector tower.
  • Planet Liberation reaches 100% at the end of each defense mission.
  • Some weapons in the tutorial have missing parts, which in some cases are shown as question marks.
