The main character Geralt of Rivia has a new actor in Netflix's “The Witcher” adaptation. Ciri actress Freya Allan asks to give Liam Hemsworth a chance.
Those familiar with the series adaptation “The Witcher” on Netflix will have to get used to a new face for the main character Geralt of Rivia in the coming seasons of the show. Because Henry Cavill, who is extremely popular with fans, has the character turned his back after the third season.

Ciri actress Freya Allan also took up the fact that Cavill enjoys a kind of cult status among fans of the “The Witcher” series, the books and the games. Geralt will be portrayed in the coming seasons by Liam Hemsworth, the brother of Thor actor Chris Hemsworth. Liam is known, among other things, from the “The Hunger Games” films.
Takeover is not an “ideal situation,” says Freya Allan
Hemsworth is already being criticized by fans of the show, even though he hasn't even appeared in the role of the titular sorcerer yet. Freya Allen therefore called on viewers to give the new Geralt a chance.
“I don't want to speak for him, but from what I've heard, I feel like he really wants to try and put his heart into it. He trained,” the actress stated.

“To be honest, I feel sorry for him,” Allan continued. “Because this fan base can be very aggressive, and it's not an ideal situation to take on someone else's role. But I'm really excited to see what he does. And he's such a nice guy. I just hope people give him the time he needs.”
Netflix confirmed final season
In October 2022, it was announced that Henry Cavill would not be returning for a fourth season of The Witcher. As part of this announcement, Hemsworth was confirmed as the new lead actor. It is still unknown why Cavill left the series.
Recently, Netflix announced that the series adaptation gets a fifth season, which will also be the final season. The fourth season of “The Witcher” with Liam Hemsworth is currently being worked on. The fifth and final season will be produced immediately afterwards.
