Officialized in spring 2023, the Adventures of Dunk and the Egg series has its main cast. The roles of Duncan the Great and Aegon Targaryen have been assigned.
The audiovisual adaptation of the Game of Thrones universe is currently focused on season 2 of House of the Dragon, whose broadcast is set for June 16, 2024. The final episode will take place seven weeks later, on August 4. Given the density of the adapted story, it will still take a few additional seasons to complete everything.

Naturally, HBO is thinking about what's next. We know, for example, that the continuation of Jon Snow's adventures will not be made. On the other hand, other avenues are still considered, such as a spin-off on Aegon the Conqueror. Dunk and Egg are two nicknames given to Duncan the Great and Aegon Targaryen respectively. The first is a knight-errant, the second his squire. Contrary to what one might imagine, Duncan is not tall because of his feats of arms (at least, in his beginnings…), but because he is a huge guy.

The beginnings of the two thieves begin at the time of a famous tournament, that of Cendregué. This is where they will meet.

Chronologically speaking, The Adventures of Dunk and the Egg happen between House of the Dragon And Game Of Thrones. More precisely, the two partners experience their adventures approximately a century before GoT (90 years old, to be precise). In fact, they will come across certain characters already seen or mentioned in Game Of Thrones.

The magazine Variety reports that the role of Duncan was given to Peter Claffey, while that of the Egg went to Dexter Sol Ansell.
