Maybe actor Walton Goggins should have taken a look at the games before taking on his role as The Ghoul in Fallout. Because he had no idea how important one of his lines actually was in the series.

If he had known the meaning of the words, he might have said them incorrectly, Goggins said

“War. “War always stays the same,” are the words that have accompanied fans of the “Fallout” series since the first part. These words, which are spoken in the English original by actor Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”, “Sons of Anarchy”), are heard in every part of the role-playing game series.

Perlman explains in his monologues that waging war is human nature and how war evolved in the “Fallout” universe – into nuclear weapons that wiped out much of humanity.

The important line is also uttered in the Amazon series by the ghoul played by Walton Goggins. “I had no idea how iconic those words were to the players of this game,” Goggins explained in a recent Instagram post. “I thought Graham and Geneva [die Schöpfer Graham Wagner und Geneva Robertson-Dworet] would have written one of the best lines of dialogue I've had the pleasure of saying in my career. But unfortunately I was wrong. I didn't ask and they didn't tell me. And I’m glad I didn’t.”

If he had known the meaning, he might have said it wrong. Or he might have even chosen not to say it at all for fear of messing up Perlman's iconic line, the actor further explained. “I didn’t say them as well as he did… but I said them anyway,” Goggins concluded.
