This science fiction fresco directed by Denis Villeneuve won over critics, the general public as well as the box office. A new symbolic financial milestone has even been crossed by the epic of Paul Atréides.

Dune 2 dominates the box office
It has now been almost 9 weeks since Dune Part II has been occupying cinemas around the world and defying the most optimistic predictions. This sci-fi feature film directed by Denis Villeneuve has had more than 4 million admissions in France, which quite simply makes it number 1 in our territory in 2024, far ahead of Cocorico with Christian Clavier and his 1.9 million. These excellent results go hand in hand with those internationally.
Dune 2 has collected 700.6 million US dollars, all territories combined, since its launch at the end of February in cinemas. This second adaptation by the Quebec filmmaker of the literary work written by Frank Herbert was able to seduce its domestic market as well as those internationally with 278.3 million and 422.3 million respectively for a total exceeding the symbolic milestone of 700 million . However, Dune Part II is not the only sci-fi film from Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures to dominate the box office in spring 2024.

After the contemplative auteur film object, it is time to make way for a titanic pulp trip whose vision of the 7th Art is diametrically opposed. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire by Adam Wingard was released on April 3, 2024 in France and can boast of having already attracted 890 people to theaters. Internationally, this new installment of the MonsterVerse exceeded half a billion at the box office including 176.2 million gleaned in North America and 324.2 million internationally (a total of 504 million). Films produced and/or distributed by Warner Bros have already earned 1.7 billion in 2024, and it's not over because Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga hits theaters on May 22.
