The Significant Adjustment Post-Controversy

While waiting for the fog of Silent Hill 2 Remake to be released by Bloober Team, a discovery was made suggesting an important change following fan feedback.

On the Silent Hill 2 Remake SteamDB page, we can indeed notice a change recently made regarding an icon of the game. This displays a face of James Sunderland different from that hitherto highlighted in particular in the trailers. This facelift would also be more to the taste of the fans.

Remake of James' face in Silent Hill 2 Remake

Announced two years ago with Bloober Team (The Medium) at the helm, Silent Hill 2 Remake should soon emerge from the fog. However, this is not the case for the face of James Sunderland, the main protagonist of the game. In various trailers, his appearance lacked some consistency. He was sometimes seen aged, sometimes younger, causing confusion among fans. The title also suffered controversy with Konami's latest presentation of the game. This focused on combat inspired by Resident Evil 4 Remake. A point which was also not to the liking of the fans, or even apparently of Bloober Team.

Coming back to James, an icon featuring his face was recently modified on the Silent Hill 2 Remake SteamDB page. This shows a younger James, more in line with his representation in the original game. Fans who learned of this change reacted generally positively. The newly presented face appears more in line with Konami's vision for the legendary title released in 2001 on PS2.

A Remake that lives up to colossal expectations?

Remaining relatively discreet, Silent Hill 2 Remake is currently receiving a mixed reception from the community. On the one hand, fans are excited to see how Bloober Team will bring back one of the greatest horror games of all time. On the other hand, they remain doubtful as to the fact that the Remake is not overseen by the original developers at Konami.

Since Silent Hill 2 Remake has been rated by many countries, its release on PC and PS5 should not be long. We can bet that Konami will make a proper announcement soon. Let's hope that the trailer which will accompany the release date will definitively lift the fog from fans' doubts.
