Oh, is one of Nintendo's best heroes actually returning?

Nintendo has created numerous special heroes over the decades, from legends like Mario to Princess Peach, who was recently given the honor of her own solo adventure. In our Review of Princess Peach: Showtime! Nintendo's charming approach certainly convinced us.

Yet these still exist many more iconic characters, which could be mentioned here, one of them is pink in color, comes from a fictional planet and could return soon. Of course we're talking about Kirby.

Who is Kirby?

The small, balloon-shaped, pink creature, which is native to the fictional planet Pop Starr, is particularly popular in Japan. He is the protagonist of the platformer series of the same name. A special characteristic of Kirby is this Ability to suck in objects and enemies and thus copy their abilities.

Since his debut on the Game Boy in 1992, Kirby has won the hearts of countless fans around the world. And this very Nintendo hero could soon be seen again on the Nintendo Switch. But how do we know this?

Is this Nintendo hero actually returning?

According to the magazine Nintendolife Nintendo has had two of its brands renewed. One of them is about the little purple kissing ball Kirby. The platformer Kirby and the Rainbow Brushwas released in 2015 for the WiiU, the other brand is the puzzle game Fullbox.

Of course, this update does not necessarily mean that the games will be revived, but several old adventures have been ported to the Nintendo Switch, particularly in the Kirby series.

Last was with Kirby's Return to Dream Land An old Wii classic will be released for the hybrid console in 2023. If you also consider that the WiiU was quite a failure for Nintendo and that only a few people even played the game, a port seems all the more likely.

However, it must be mentioned that extending trademark rights is a common business practice for the Japanese developer. But maybe we are already there next Nintendo Direct smarter and see if there was any truth to the rumors. It is currently rumored that the next edition of the event will take place at the end of May or beginning of June 2024.
