The Roblox cash machine relaxes its rules for selling items on its marketplace | Xbox

As Roblox Corporation celebrates Roblox's 18th anniversary this year, like Xboxygen, the company has decided to relax the rules that govern the creation and sale of items for the game's avatars. not already done, and to understand everything about the Roblox phenomenon, we invite you to see our file on the underside of the meteoric rise of Roblox.

Selling Items Just Got Easier in Roblox

If you want to create and sell items for avatars on the Roblox marketplace, you must first apply to join the platform's UGC (user-generated content) program. You then have to wait for approval from the services, which can take some time.

But all that is now history, as announced by Enrico D'Angelo, Roblox vice president of in-game economics.

Since 2019, we have enabled, through an app only, a small and growing number of people to create virtual 3D objects on Marketplace, one of Roblox's main destinations where users can make purchases and s express themselves through their avatars.

Today, we make it easier for everyone to create virtual items on the marketplace. This is a considerable step forward for creators and brands who will thus be able to market a varied collection of avatars, clothing and accessories, and get closer to their audience.

Now, Roblox users can download, publish and sell on the marketplace as long as they are identified, subscribed to Robux Premium 1000 or 2000 and accept the community rules and marketplace policies.

Facilitating this access obviously means simplifying the procedures for selling products, and therefore generating additional revenue for Roblox which, in the last quarter, announced record results with a turnover of $749.9 million (+ 30%) for an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $259.6 million, an increase of 42% compared to the previous year.

Roblox is today a huge content platform like, for example, Fortnite. The game is very well known among young audiences, particularly for the accessible and varied experiences it offers. With this new policy, Enrico D'Angelo sees it as an opportunity to increase the number of content for sale on the platform.

One of the biggest benefits of this development is the influx of great new content that should soon be available on Marketplace. Millions of users already visit the Marketplace every day, and as of December 2023, almost 71% of them have spent time editing their avatar.

Billions of items were purchased there, including nearly 1.6 billion digital fashion items during the first nine months of 2023. Brands are not left out: in 2023, our partner brands sold around 27 million articles on Roblox.

The latest news is that Roblox was released on PlayStation at the end of 2023, launched an AI creation assistant and began recruiting new employees on… Roblox.
