The Most Anticipated Season Yet: The Boys Set to Return in 2024

Eric Kripke, showrunner of the series The Boys, true spearhead of Amazon's streaming platform, has just provided some information regarding the future of the show on his X account (formerly Twitter). Fans are excited to reunite with their favorite characters after the miniseries Gen Va spin-off which makes the transition between the 3rd season and the fourth of the main series.

Season 4 is coming out of the oven

It was via an X post that Eric Kripke confirmed that season 4 was “completely, totally and absolutely finished” before its premiere in June. He took advantage of the announcement to thank the actors and teams who worked on the project, affirming that, thanks to them, the coming season “might be the best yet.”

Season 4 will directly follow that of Gen V and hence it is imperative to watch this series in order to have a better understanding of the current situation of the universe. The story will mainly focus on the character of Ryan, son of the leader of the Seven, and on the fight between the pro-Stella and pro-Homelander factions. A new character, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan in The Walking Dead), will make his first steps in the show, but his role remains unknown.

The Boys gets people talking

Season 4 was barely ready to air before rumors are already circulating about a season 5. According to CBR journalists, a production listing would announce that scouting has already begun and that principal photography for new episodes will begin this monthuntil next August.

Culminating in the top series, The Boys garners a majority of positive reviews, both from the press and from viewers. And although the show continues to be enormously appreciated over the seasons, certain voices are raised to denounce “incessant political bombardment“, especially since season 3. The series does not seem ready to change its priorities since the war between Stella and Homelander (clearly modeled on the opposition between liberals and conservatives in the USA) will be at the heart of the next episodes. Season 4 will be available from June 13 on Prime Video.
