Genshin Impact has been disappointing players for a few updates. The new patch 4.6 should have been different, it should have been a redemption, a consecration, a real reward for the patience of the players! But unfortunately, this is not the case for several reasons…

Recent updates to Genshin Impact disappoint. Since the mid-update of version 4.2 with the incredible story of the divinity of the city of Fountain, nothing more. The story is considered empty, dry, insipid, in short, the players are not happy at all. But there is one streamer/YouTuber in particular that catches our attention, this one is called “Tectone”. This Anglophobe doesn't mince his words when talking about this new content, which he tried for around thirty minutes before abandoning in the middle of the stream.
A failed quest
The video entitled: “I've never been so angry” lasts around twenty minutes and clearly announces Tectone's feelings. In the first seconds of the video, he tells us this after playing outside of Twitch and YouTube:
I just finished a little more than half of the Arlecchino quest. It was so bad that I wanted to shoot myself while I was playing.
Strong words, which earned the man a rather controversial reputation. He continues, explaining that this quest does not allow you to chat with Arlecchino, THE main character of this update. We have to endure a story in which we only talk to children who contribute nothing to the plot, but the biggest problem is that we already know the whole story of this content! This cutscene brings a lot of depth to the character Arlecchino, the fourth executor of the “Fatui”, one of the antagonistic groups of the game.
However, who would have thought that these 7 short minutes would tell absolutely the entire story of version 4.6? Well, no one apparently, which infuriated players. We can read warnings on the internet, begging those who have not yet seen said cutscene to do the story quest before watching it. Unfortunately, if you have already seen the animation of Ufotable, the dialogues of the quest will frustrate you to the point, since they assume that you have no knowledge of Arlecchino's past. Situations that will undoubtedly make you shout at your screen, as the dialogues will be scripted towards your ignorance.
Uninteresting writing
According to Tectone again, the dialogues of Genshin Impact are extremely poorly written. You can imagine that I cannot reuse his words, but his message clarifies his vision of things a little. He explains that Hoyoverse accustoms its players to not paying attention to the dialogues, so that they do not realize the bad writing of the game. The goal is to repeat over and over the same information the player already has, over and over, and over, and… You get the idea.
When only 10 percent of dialogue is interesting or important and 90 percent is absolutely not, players become accustomed to characters repeating themselves. And presto, no one reads the dialogues anymore. […] This is why those who know the history of the game and make videos about it are so respected.
This 4.6 update is not what players were hoping for. Between the lack of dialogue with one of the most anticipated characters in the entire game, the writing which is particularly tedious and time-consuming or even the fact that we already know the secrets of the last quest, Genshin Impact will have difficulty getting back on track.
