12 projects in progress

The Star Wars cinematic universe is expanding and welcoming more and more actors. Moreover, Disney is not finished, the company is producing more and more series and films to expand it. We already know shows like Andor, The Book of Boba Fettor the spin-off based on 'Han Solo, but there are nearly a dozen projects that the firm is keeping aside. Among them, we would find a new trilogy, which would therefore open a new chapter in Star Wars and probably new actors. However, some actors do not want to pass the torch right away. This is the case of this actor, who believes he still has enough time to come back.

The Return of Obi Wan Kenobi

Ewan McGregor has always had a very complicated relationship with the Star Wars franchise. If today he is Obi-Wan Kenobi, thanks to postlogy, he has often had a little difficulty embracing this character. Additionally, these films have frequently been heavily criticized by fans. As Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), McGregor took a while to become adopted into the community, “It was not an easy task for me.. I didn't think it matched who I was at all. […]I'm happy to play this character for a lot of people, but when these films came out, they weren't appreciated for their true value. It was hard. », he explained in an interview with Variety. However, now everything has worked out, since the Jedi is more popular than ever. He even had the right to his own series on Disney +, simply titled Obi Wan Kenobi.

Since then, it is both the fans and the actor himself who have been waiting for the officialization of part 2, which remains very discreet. “I would love to do the second season, but we’re not talking about it yet. There’s a lot going on at Disney,” McGregor commented during the Gothenburg festival. The actor immediately explained that he could be patient, “I still have time“, did he declare. He recalls that the first interpreter of Kenobi, Alec Guinness, was 63 when he appeared in the first Star Wars film: ten years older than McGregor. Given his enthusiasm, it is also possible that the actor will play the Jedi for as long as he can. For the moment, we do not yet know what form this return could take, apart from this possible season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Among the 12 projects cited by Disney, we could imagine the actor doing a crossover with another series or reappearing as a guide in the new trilogy. However, it should be remembered that these are only ideas that have not yet been formalized.
