  • Improved surface maps – You will always know where to go and you will no longer get lost going to your parents' house
  • New gaming options – For those of you who like an extra challenge or want to make certain aspects of the game easier, you can personalize your experience with new options in the Settings menu. Want to make land combat harder and sea combat easier? It's possible ! The “extreme” difficulty mode will give you a hard time.
  • Added a mode for decorating the interior of ships : You can now decorate your ships like you do with outposts! It will be possible to add carpets, chests and other armchairs inside the ship.
  • Adding Tabs to Container Menus to facilitate inventory management.
  • Added ability to change traits and appearance after entering the unit.
  • Added dialog camera option in the settings.
  • Added display settings for Xbox Series in order to prioritize visuals or performance (Series X).

Two graphics modes and 60 FPS on Xbox Series X, yes!

New graphics options are coming to Xbox Series X. They will probably not be available on Xbox Series S.

For each of these options, Bethesda strongly recommends using a variable refresh rate (VRR) display running at 120Hz and verifying that your Xbox is configured to use it. If you have it set up this way, Starfield will default to a refresh rate of 40, while keeping the priority for full visuals.

Frame rate : You can now choose between 30, 40, 60 or an uncapped frame rate on VRR displays. If you don't have a VRR screen running at 120hz, you will still be able to choose between 30 or 60. Screen tearing can sometimes occur when you select 60 on a non-VRR screen.

Priority performance or visuals : You can prioritize visuals or performance while trying to maintain the frame rate goal. If you choose a target frame rate of 60 fps or higher, we recommend upgrading to Performance. Prioritizing visuals keeps the highest resolution while maintaining a high level of detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Performance mode reduces internal resolution and detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Both modes can adjust the internal resolution dynamically when scenes or action become heavier. When you switch from one mode to another, you will see the lighting change briefly while the system adapts to the new mode.
