Building a character in an MMO often requires not counting your hours. But since time is money, a player is demanding no less than 100,000 euros for her account. According to her, it is completely legitimate and some even say they are interested!

The German World of Warcraft
If you are an MMORPG expert, you may have heard of Tibia. In addition to being a bone, it is also the name of a very popular title in Germany, which has never really managed to establish itself outside its borders, except in South America and Plogone. Even older than World of Warcraft, Tibia was released in 1997. Although it may seem archaic, the title is still very popular, even achieving a record year in 2020, managing to bring together 100,000 simultaneous playersthus increasing its turnover by almost 10 million euros compared to 2019.
The game has its stars, notably Goraca and Bobeek, both occupying the first places in the ranking and who are also an IRL couple. The player plays a master sorcerer of level 2317 and is officially the best MMO player, after more than 16 years of gaming. The two companions regularly competed for first place, but a stupid death from Bobeek will allow Gorcana to take a sufficient lead to maintain his hegemony. But this first place generates a lot of desire, some even being ready to pay lavishly to obtain it.
€100,000 per account
Bobeek had already received an offer of nearly $250,000 for the sale of his account, which he had refused, arguing that the game “changed his life”, making his character much more valuable in his eyes. This time, it was his partner, Gorcana who received proposals. The latter is clear, the latter will not accept no less than €100,000 in exchange for his character. Following this announcement, a potential buyer expressed interest on behalf of the player.
Some German media claim that the mysterious buyer is actually another big name in the game, more precisely the 46th best player in the ranking, somewhat reassuring the community; if there is a purchase, the character of Gorcana would be in good hands. But here again a problem remains: the sale of an account is prohibited by the game's charter. It is therefore up to potential buyers to make their arrangements before any payment of €100,000!
