Just in time for the start of the “Golden Week” in Japan (April 29th to May 5th), Bandai Namco has the action role-playing game developed by ILCA Sand land released today for PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSeries. Akira Toriyamacreator of the manga series on which the game is based and other manga, anime and video game characters such as Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest or Chrono Trigger, unfortunately couldn't see the release of the title. He died on March 1, 2024 at the age of 68. Bandai Namco released the following information about the release:
Sand Land tells the story of unexpected friendships between humans and demons in a ruthless world where water has become the rarest resource. The Demon Prince Beelzebub and his companion Thief accompany Sheriff Rao in search of the legendary spring to save the residents of Sand Land. Your journey around the world will be marked by new alliances and intense battles to fend off the dangers of the desert and the army of the Sandland King.
The world of Sand Land will be expanded with an exclusive story and territory, as conceived and overseen by Akira Toriyama specifically for the video game and animated series. Beelzebub and his friends head to the Woodland, a green and lush land that is very different from the desert they have previously known. Further challenges await there; They need the assistance of Ann, an experienced mechanic, to face the powerful Muniel and his loyal army.
To travel the vast world of Sand Land, players can hop on more than ten different vehicles, be it to travel long distances, navigate difficult terrain or rain bullets on their enemies. Each vehicle can be customized with found or crafted parts to improve its capabilities and suit different play styles. Players can also change colors and add stickers to show off their style throughout their adventures.
