Optimizing Shooting Functions and Workflow Efficiency with Major Firmware Upgrades for Sony Alpha 1, Alpha 7S III, and Alpha 7 IV Cameras

Gamingdeputy reported on March 28 that Sony officially released firmware updates for multiple mirrorless cameras today.Includes Alpha 1 (Ver. 2.00), Alpha 7S III (Ver. 3.00), Alpha 7 IV (Ver. 3.00), and Alpha 9 III (Ver. 2.00) firmware that will be launched after April 2024.

This update enhances shooting functions and post-processing workflow, including support for the new version of Remote Camera Tool computer remote control software, mobile applications Creators' App, and Monitor & Control App.

ILCE-7SM3 Ver.3.00

Support new mobile applications

  • Added support for Creators' App;

  • Added support for Monitor & Control App.

Note from Gamingdeputy: The new Creators' App mobile app has replaced the Imaging Edge Mobile App. The new App supports users to transfer photos from the camera to smartphones, remotely shoot and use other functions. Monitor & Control App is used for wireless By connecting the camera, you can monitor videos and shoot remotely via your smartphone or tablet.

Shooting & playback functions

  • Added support for relay playback function;

  • Added support for breathing compensation;

  • Added support for DCI 4K (4096×2160) and 24.00p recording. Please note that this feature requires a free license to be installed.;

  • Added multiple ways to playback and filter captured images, such as filtering images in FTP transfer status;

  • The maximum number of recorded images in a folder has been increased from 4000 to 999;

  • Allows timecode input through the Multi/micro USB port, and you can set the timecode on the source device. It should be noted that this function requires the purchase of a special adapter cable to connect the source device of the timecode and the camera. ;

  • Added support for importing/switching multiple (up to 20) IPTC presets;

  • Added support for C2PA format. (The validity period of the certificate has not yet been determined);
