New solution brought in to resolve the conflict

The remaster of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered has some players upset due to a censored item post-launch. But the studio explains itself and has excellent news.

Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered is far from being the ideal compilation, especially since it is not without its flaws. While we might have expected an “impeccable” finish, the collection needed a first patch, released only a month after release, to add missing HD textures, retouch the lighting and much more. things. Unfortunately, a massive second update, with a long list of improvements, sparked controversy. A controversy which should end soon.

The controversy over the removed posters of Tomb Raider Remastered

As indicated, the second patch of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered certainly still made it possible to correct weaknesses for the three games, but also introduced a major problem for some. A level of the third opus was partly censored, which did not really please the community. What caused debate and even controversy was the fact that two pin-up posters with Lara Croft were removed in Sleeping with the Fishes in T3 The Lost Artifact.

Posters deemed too out of step with changing morals? According to Daniel Hagen of Aspyr Media, it's not about that. The removal of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered posters is explained, according to him, by a bug introduced by the last patch. The texture update removed the controversial images. Part of the community has therefore complained about this change and a solution is on the way. As soon as update 3 is deployed, which could be available in May if the studio keeps the same rhythm, the posters will be back.

Thank you to the Tomb Raider community for your continued feedback and support of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft. In the recently deployed patch 2, we made several texture and graphics updates for the HD version. As part of these changes, the posters for the Sleeping with the Fishes level in T3: The Last Artifact were inadvertently removed in the HD version of the game. This issue has been resolved and these textures will be restored in patch 3 .
