The development is in full swing.
Autumn 2019, about six months before the release of The Last of Us Part II, Naughty Dog confirmed that they chose to bet everything on the game’s single player. Even if you then and then pawed around multiplayer info, it has always been clear that it was not canceled – but just postponed.
We did not receive any news this weekend either, which would not have been unreasonable then The Last of Usthe day fell then (and has done so since 2013). Naughty Dogs Rochelle Snyder says (thank you) VGC) that they will show it “when it’s time”. In other words, they are about as cryptic as you can be.
We see the community comments as many of you clamour for multiplayer and want updates. For now, we’ll say that we love what the team is developing and want to give them time to build out their ambitious project, we’ll reveal more when it’s ready.
Snyder says that the multiplayer team is constantly growing and the fact that they have previously been employed for studios “first standalone multiplayer game” hints that this will be independent from the second in the series.
Rest assured, we are as big a fan of Factions as the rest of our community and are excited to share more when it’s ready.
