Kingdom Come: Deliverance II: RPG sequel officially announced with first trailer

Warhorse Studios released Kingdom Come: Deliverance in 2018, a very interesting role-playing game. The game, set in the Middle Ages, relied on a realistic approach and dispensed with fantasy elements that otherwise characterize such RPGs. This worked quite well because the role-playing game was convincing.

The rumor mill has been bubbling over the past few days after Warhorse Studios announced the announcement of a new game. The signs quickly increased that this would be the sequel Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. The release year and platforms were leaked yesterday in advance. But now the official announcement of the game has actually taken place.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will actually come onto the market in 2024. This is a direct continuation of the first part for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms – last-gen consoles and the Switch are not supported.

According to the creators, the sequel is said to have been developed and written in such a way that the game should also be interesting for newcomers who have not played part 1. Long-time fans of the franchise will of course also get their money's worth.

Thematically, it goes back to 15th century Bohemia. The plot begins where the predecessor ended: in the role of Heinrich, the steadfast son of a blacksmith, you find yourself in a turbulent story of revenge, betrayal and self-discovery. You will traverse the lovingly designed medieval world, which will offer settings ranging from modest forges to magnificent royal courts.

In the treacherous currents of a kingdom torn by civil war, two new maps await you, which are twice as large as their predecessor and trace the Bohemian Paradise. You can still visit this real place in the Czech Republic today. Among other things, you can explore Trosky Castle or the now urban surroundings of the silver mining town of Kutná Hora.

The new game will also continue to tell the story of Heinrich's journey through a variety of cutscenes that will run for more than five hours. The combat system has been reworked to make it more accessible. However, one thing will not change: the representation of medieval martial arts should be realistic. In addition to sword fighting, there will still be ranged attacks, with crossbows or early gunpowder weapons being added. You will be able to take different paths in the quests.

A more specific release period or even a day-specific release date is still pending for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
