The announcement that a modern AAA title is coming with a season pass shouldn't surprise anyone anymore. In the case of Star Wars Outlaws, the debate is sparked less by its existence than by its content.

Because many players fear that they The season pass deprives you of a central mission centered around the evil crime lord Jabba becomes. What happened?

Last week, Ubisoft presented the different editions of Star Wars Outlaws in addition to a new story trailer. When looking at the contents of these editions, resourceful users quickly discovered that the Gold and Ultimate Editions both came with them on release day an additional mission that are not available in the base game: Jabba's move.

The description text for the mission says: Just as Kay is assembling a crew for the Canto Bight raid, she receives an order from Jabba the Hutt himself. As it turns out, ND-5 has owed Jabba for years, and now he's come to claim the debt.

As a result, many players wondered to what extent they could interact with Jabba in the game without a season pass. The powerful crime lord certainly shouldn't be missing from a game about the underworld of the Star Wars universe. Especially since Ubisoft has already done so in the past had promised that you could work for or against Jabba in Outlaws.

What does Ubisoft say?

After criticism online, Ubisoft has now reacted. Opposite the US website IGN said a Ubisoft spokesperson: The mission is Jabba's gambit an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix's journey through the Outer Rim. This mission will fBe available to those who have the Season Pass or purchase an edition of the game that includes the Season Pass.

However, the following statement from the spokesman may be much more important for fans:

Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition.

So no one has to do without Jabba completely. However, this cannot completely smooth things over within the community. Many fans feel betrayed by the fact that Content of a full-price single player title behind an additional paywall would be held.

Especially since this paywall isn't exactly low: the basic game costs 70 euros; the Gold Edition included Jabba's move costs 110 euros, the Ultimate Edition even costs 130 euros. This offends some fans.

And Ubisoft is also being criticized in other ways. After the racing game The Crew was cut off, many gamers are now wondering how safe their digital property is. We have linked a corresponding column above.

What do you think of Ubisoft's season pass policy? Do you think the additional mission for pre-orders is justified or do you think this measure is unfair? Maybe you don't care about such extras? Feel free to write it to us in the comments!
