Nowadays, more and more video games are coming out of our consoles and into cinemas. Sometimes live action with Gran Turismo, Five Nights at Freddys And Uncharted…sometimes, in an animated film with Super Mario Bros.… the video game industry is taking the cinematic world by stormand it's not about to stop.

Jack Black was recently interviewed to talk about his new role: he will voice Claptrap in the film Borderlands This year ! The actor decided, after a few questions, to talk about his dismay at the lack of creation of a film about the games from the Rockstar Games studio. A glimmer of hope ?

It goes without saying that Rockstar Games have two games that have had phenomenal success with players. However, a film adaptation seems particularly complicated. Indeed, in 2019, a certain American named Strauss Zelnick confirmed that it is unlikely that a film will see the light of day. Strauss Zelnick is a lawyer, but also the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, known for having worked on BioShock, Borderlands or GTA IV. The businessman continues, specifying that if a film is created, Rockstar Games wants to have “total control” to ensure that it is made. If it's not exactly how the studio wants it, no film will ever see the light of day.
