The origin of the world

The universe of the Fallout license takes place in a American retro-futuristic uchrony. In fact, the world is an alternative version of ours, stuck in the equivalent of our 50s, in a Cold War that never ended. Where, in our reality, humans have quickly entered the era of computing, the sharing of knowledge, space and various technical advances, the world of Fallout has only ever relied on tubes. vacuum or electron tubes. Crude and archaic, this technology has made all electronics not very transportable and difficult to scale or miniaturize, but nevertheless quite advanced, like the future imagined by citizens after the Second World War.

The different titles of the license still taking place in the United States, the policy is entirely American-centric. But since it is an alternate world, the country has also experienced different changes. In fact, its residents never protested against the war in Vietnam or at Woodstock, nor were they interested in the Watergate scandal. We are within an all-powerful America whose actions have never been questioned. And the differences don't stop there, since the country is divided into 13 Commonwealths and California has dissociated itself from it. A very different world with a more than disastrous destiny.

Shelters”

The world of fallout results from the Great War, a global nuclear conflict that left behind only 0.1% of the population and uninhabitable land. The lucky survivors, for their part, escaped the strikes within different shelters scattered across the United States. All signed Vault-tec Corporation, they hide a rather macabre secret. In fact, the company, which suspected the coming conflict and its repercussions, is fully aware that, even if saved, the survivors could never return to live outside like before. In this context, the different shelters are in fact so many experiments carried out by society in order to collect valuable data for the Enclave, the remains of the American government.

Of the 122 shelters built, only 17 of them are designed to function as advertised. As for the other 105, they were subjected to various scenarios, some classic, others deadly dangerous, in order to evaluate how humans react to them and how they go about surviving (if they succeed). . Some have been intentionally equipped with a limited amount of food synthesizers, others only include men, still others have been programmed to open prematurely. Nearly 105 different experiments were carried out to collect data which in fact aimed to prepare for a trip into space aboard a multi-generational shipwhere generations will follow one another until their destination: a new Earth.
