In a question and answer session This week the community had the opportunity to ask Creative Director Stéphane Boudon a few questions. These revolved around, among other things, Basim Ibn Ishaq, the protagonist of “Assassin's Creed: Mirage”, and the question of whether and in what form his story could be told.

Even though the developers are definitely interested in Basim's return, we shouldn't expect DLC or an expansion for “Assassin's Creed: Mirage.” According to Boudon, the title was conceived from the start as a self-contained experience.

Developers are thrilled with the feedback

When asked by a user, the creative director behind “Assassin's Creed: Mirage” said: “We are thrilled with the way Mirage has been received. But Mirage was designed as a standalone experience with no DLC plan. But we certainly have ideas about how we could expand Basim’s story.”

However, the team currently has nothing to announce in this regard, Boudon added. At the same time, the creative director pointed out that after features such as New Game Plus or that Permadeath mode There are no longer any major updates or content planned for “Assassin’s Creed: Mirage”.

However, the developers will keep an eye on the community's feedback and keep the possibility open for smaller updates that, for example, fix bugs.

Could Basim return in another game?

Since no further content for “Assassin's Creed: Mirage” is planned, the creative director was asked about other games in which Basim could appear or even play the main role.

Boudon: “Telling Basim’s coming-of-age story was a lot of fun for us. When it comes to Basim, we clearly still have a lot to tell.”

“On the other hand, developing a game with so many restrictions is a difficult task, and as a team we would also like to explore new horizons and have more creative freedom,” it continues about Basim’s possible future.

“Assassin's Creed: Mirage” was released in October 2023 for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
