Boarding on PlayStation 5
Available since April 25 if pre-reserved and since April 30 in official version, Sea of Thieves, the famous pirate game which has been popular on PCs and Xbox consoles for almost 6 years is finally available on the latest Sony console. On this occasion, the title of Rare (Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong Country) includes mechanics allowing new crews to properly start their adventures.
If the aim of the game is above all to complete different quests, alone or with others, with the aim of recovering many treasures, Sea of Thievesvia its multiplayer aspect, also promises numerous PVP phases between the different crews. The game being in cross play (groups all users together, regardless of their game system), there is a good chance for PlayStation players to rub shoulders with those already present on Xbox and PC for several years, leaving them with little chance of survival. It is to counter this possibility that the developers have allowed deactivating cross-play directly in the game options, allowing novices to start the adventure more calmly.
Little or “prow” the same thing
If the customization of the boats has not necessarily changed, the skins specific to the 20 years of Xbox are obviously absent from the PS5 version of the title. However, a well-known character is resisting, since the Master Chief figurehead is still available with its matching shell, even for Sony gamers! The haptic feedback of the Dual Sense is also present, but remain very discreet once in play. Also, and although this was done before the release on this new console, an update to the game had added certain mechanics for new players, particularly in anticipation of the release on PlayStation.
Fact, fast travel is now available, preventing beginners from appearing in an outpost completely opposite to the start of a fable. In addition to this, the “Calm Seas” mode offers the possibility of enjoy the game on private servers, retaining only the PVE phases of the game in terms of combat. Access to the various quests has also been revised, now allowing them to be viewed directly from a menu, while indicating their theoretical completion time and no longer requiring the payment of gold. If all these additions sound like heresy to old players, they are however optional. Apart from all this, the game remains the same and promises many hours of adventure to do alone or with others.
