Helldivers 2: PC version ensures soaring heights + new Kring bond coming soon

Helldivers 2 benefits greatly from the simultaneous release on the PC, where the action game is very popular. To keep it that way, there will be another new war bond next week with fresh content.

Helldivers 2 turned out to be a surprisingly big success for Sony – and that has a lot to do with the simultaneous release of the game on the PC. With the third-person co-op shooter, Sony deviated from its previous strategy, which initially envisages a PS5 release and only brings with it a later PC release.

According to Mat Piscatella, analyst at Circana (formerly the US market research group NPD Group), the move has fully paid off for Sony. Helldivers 2 has now become the Sony title with the seventh highest sales in the USA – a pretty impressive figure. The PC version contributed significantly to this, because without it, Helldivers 2 would not be anywhere near the top of the ranking, according to Piscatella. According to the analyst, purely on the PlayStation 5 it wouldn't even be enough for Sony's top 20 in the United States. Will Sony therefore rethink its release strategy more often in the future?

Regardless of this, the players in Helldivers 2 should of course continue to be kept engaged. That's why the next war bond called Polar Patriots will be released in the new week on May 9th. This brings with it fresh weapons, emotes and capes.

Firepower:

• AR-61 Tenderizer – A true tentacle shredder. This large-caliber assault rifle packs incredible punch but has a limited magazine size, so make sure every shot is accurate. Unpatriotic “joke shots” are strongly discouraged.
• SMG-72 Pummeler – It has a slower rate of fire than other SMGs, but these explosive rounds will leave your enemies dazed, confused and still ugly. Patient Helldivers will be rewarded.
• PLAS-101 Purifier – Lay the trap. Hold the trigger. Let them rush towards you. And smile. They're getting closer. Keep smilling. Closer. Smile. Closer. Smile. Closer… and release the trigger.
• SPLAT – The longer you hold your nerve and pull the trigger, the greater the damage will be.

Secondary weapons/utility boosters

• G-13 fire impact – Don't waste time reading the instructions, just throw it at the enemy and run. This thing explodes on impact, bathing the entire area in white phosphorus, so make sure you – and your allies – don't stand around chatting.
• P-113 Verdict – The guys from the research department love this magnificent specimen. A gas-operated semi-automatic weapon with the largest centerfire cartridge of its kind. They call it “Rapid Deliberation”. Pull them out quickly to look extra cool in front of your squad.
• motivational shocks – Literally shocks Helldivers into activity again after being hit and slowed by sneaky, unjust attacks like the disgusting Bug Acid Vomit. However, they don't help you with area-wide effects like EMS fire.

Armor

• CW-36 Winter Warrior – Blends into snowy environments thanks to perfect camouflage. The enemy won't even see you coming – and then it will already be too late for him. Ah, the sweet smell of stealth. Passive boost – with servo support.

• Kodiak CW 22 – This armor was put through its paces by patriotic volunteers as part of the citizen advancement program “Test Subjects for Over-Earth.” Their sacrifice should not be forgotten. Passive Boost – Amplifier.

• Arctic Ranger CW-4 – Features a handy utility belt with useful pockets that can be filled with all sorts of things: pocket knives, memorabilia, interesting stones, Terminid tentacles, robot parts, and more. Passive Boost – Scout.

• Wings of Eternal Glory – This all but guarantees advancement into the immortal ranks of those immortalized in the digital archive of Over-Earth's heroic deeds.
• Order of the Venerable Ballot Box – Adorned with the insignia of the Order of the Venerable Ballot Box, a patriotic club approved by the Ministry for citizens committed to upholding the inviolability of the right to vote.
