Bloober Team is clear: Silent Hill 2 Remake is finally approaching

Fans' feverish wait two years after the announcement of Silent Hill 2 Remake is nearing its end. Bloober Team (The Medium), the studio responsible for its development by Konami, officially confirmed the thing in its latest Annual Report dated. More precisely, it was its CEO Piotr Babieno who brought the good news. “ We are in the final stages of development for Silent Hill 2. An announcement of a release date and platforms will be made soon “.

As a reminder, numerous classification bodies have delivered their verdict concerning this highly anticipated title, a priori on PC and PS5. Given the schedule, it appears very likely that the announcement of its release date will be made in June. It is indeed a historically very favorable period for the video game industry. Whether this takes place as part of the Summer Game Fest or via a free-to-play PlayStation Showcase/State of Play, the fog remains. Fans of the legendary original Silent Hill 2 can in any case be assured of hearing about it very soon.

A Remake that lives up to the original monument?

This is undoubtedly the question that burns on the lips of fans. The presentation of Silent Hill 2 Remake during the last State of Play was unfortunately not reassuring in this sense. Konami then chose to highlight the fights, which are clearly not the strong points of the original game. This choice was not to the taste of the fans, or even Bloober Team. According to the Polish studio, this did not correspond to its vision to bring this monument of survival horror up to date.

Let's hope that the imminent announcement of the highly anticipated Remake will further highlight what made the original opus the legend we know. A recent change has notably reassured fans a little. James' face would have indeed undergone a last minute facelift. Its appearance now seems closer to that of its first iteration dating back to 2001. 23 years… that definitely doesn't make us any younger.
