Europa Universalis IV: Winds of Change – the next major add-on is approaching

Hardcore strategy fans can soon look forward to new additions to the long-running hit Europa Universalis IV. Paradox Interactive has announced the next major add-on, “Winds of Change” – and it will be available in just a few weeks.

From May 8th, 2024 you will be able to get “Winds of Change” on the PC; For this you will have to shell out 19.99 euros (RRP). The expansion brings into focus the eventful centuries of the Renaissance, the Reformation and the revolutions that upended traditional orders. As a result, the expansion brings key regions of the world into focus, with new mission trees, new government reforms and new national mechanics.

The major American nations of the Aztec, Maya and Inca are all receiving major updates, including an Aztec mechanic that encourages warfare and sacrifice, new ways to unite the Mayan nations into a kingdom, Inca royal authority, and many other improvements. These nations will also receive special content to enable an invasion of the Old World in an alternate history.

Both the Netherlands and Venice will receive an expanded historical appearance and new content. In the add-on, the declining Timurid Empire can devote itself entirely to Persian traditions or return to its roots as a horse empire as a plunderer. The Horde nations of Central Asia, including the Tatars, Mongols and Mughals, are also updated.

In Central Europe, Austria, Hungary and Bohemia will receive revised mission trees so that you can also form the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary in the future. New ancient historical options and content will be available for the creation of Germany and Italy. Finally, something is also happening with regard to the small Orthodox empires (Theodoro, Trebizond) and Hisn Kaya, Hormuz and Oman are receiving unique missions to dominate the Middle East.
