Dragon’s Dogma 2: Acquiring Gwyfencha and Crafting Nutriabh

During your visit to “Holy Bower”, the seat of the elves, you will meet Doireann, who will tell you about the Bower Heart. If you follow the elf into the hall and talk to her, you will find out about Gwyfencha. After the conversation, the mission “The Needy Bower Heart” begins, which later becomes “From the Forest to the Forge”.

What is Gwyfencha?

Direann explains that the Bowheart needs Gwyfencha to survive. If you have a vassal with you who can speak Elvish, he or she will immediately explain to you: that Gwyfencha stands for scale scale. If this is not the case, you have to find out as part of the side quest “The Needy Bower Heart”.

Either you teach your vassal the Elvish language or you simply use the Riftstone to find a companion who has this specialization. If you want to do without both, you can also go to the orange dot in the south of “Heilige Laube” (see picture). Here you will meet an elf who will translate Gwyfencha for you.

Complete “The Needy Bower Heart”.

After you found out that… Scaled tinder a byproduct of the blacksmith style is, you have to go to the blacksmith in Bakbattahl to find out more. Once you have arrived in the city, go to the quest marker where you will find the blacksmith and the dwarf Brokkr.

Since Brokkr isn't interested in helping you, you have to Talk to Sara in the back room of the forge. The helper tells you that they have a lot of Gwyfencha, but that the dwarf won't help any elf. She asks you to prepare the Elvish dish Nutriabh to convince Brokkr. This ends the quest “The Needy Bower Heart” and the mission “From the Forest to the Forge” begins.

Get ingredients for Nutriabh

Return to Sacred Bower and report to Doireann. She will ask you to collect the ingredients for Nutriabh. You must get rotten apples and rotten fishthat are supposed to be nearby. Fortunately, the ingredients don't have to be fresh, allowing you to easily come back later with the apples and fish once you've found them. Please note the following tips:

We made it easy for ourselves and went to the restaurant in “Heilige Laube”. Here you have access to your storage box. So if you already have fish and apples in there, you can take them out and bring them to Doireann. You will find them directly in front of the arcade heart a bench, on which you can sit until the fresh ingredients have rotted. If one of your vassals Logistician then he will make dry fish or dry fruit from your ingredients. This happens as soon as you have more than one item of the same type in your inventory. To prevent this, give the apples and fish to the other companions and do not carry them in your inventory. It seems like you need them two apples and two fish each, so that the check mark is set in the logbook and you can hand over the ingredients to Doireann. But all she effectively needs is a rotten apple and a rotten fish.Apples grow on trees in Vermund, but goblins also drop them when defeated.fish are often dropped by lizards.

Collect scale tinder

After Doireann brings her the ingredients and she cooks the Nutriabh, she gives you a Travel Stone so you can quickly travel to Bakbattahl. So go there and walk to the quest marker. In the forge talk to Sara and she will take you to the cave where there is a lot of scale tinder.

After the conversation at the entrance, enter the cave and collect as much scale tinder as you can find. Destroy the wooden crates, as the green substance is often underneath. The following image shows you what to look for.

Once you have collected enough, Sara will interrupt you and you will leave the cave. But don't worry, if you haven't explored every corner yet, you can come back later. There is also a chest and a few items to collect here. We had collected scale tinder 5 timesbefore Sara interrupted us and the crowd was enough.

Hand everything over to Doireann, the quest “From the Forest to the Forge” is completed and the Arbor Heart is saved. As a reward you will receive 2,800 XP, 13,000 G, the Warbler Capelet and a Quince.
