Dragon Ball is undoubtedly the most important and influential manga and by extension the most influential anime in Japanese culture. However, one of his heirs has taken his place in the hearts of fans of japanimation and the 10th Art. Konoha's most famous ninja dominates in 2024 Son Goku and the late Akira Toriyama's Z Warriors.

Naruto eclipses Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball is a special case in the world of manga and Japanese animation. Akira Toriyama's creation has long since surpassed its status as an emblematic work to become part of the intangible heritage of humanity. The majority of anime/mangas that were a hit in the 20th century and which are a hit in the 21st are closely (or distantly) inspired by the adventures of Son Goku. The modern vision of shonen stems directly from Dragon Ball and the codes it imposed without even wishing to.

TheToyZone was able to map the favorite children's cartoons in each country as well as which one ranks number 1 in the world. Against all expectations, Dragon Ball acts as a challenger here. Indeed, Naruto clearly dominates this ranking by being first in 83 countries while second place goes to CoComelon. The rest of the TOP 5 is occupied by Peppa Pig (6 countries), Tom & Jerry (5 countries) and finally Dragon Ball (4 countries). France is the image of this study. Naruto is indeed number 1 in France. The Konoha ninja is eternal.

“Naruto” fever is not about to subside. The son of the most famous ninja in the world took over from his father and his adventures still fascinate readers and spectators around the world. With 21 volumes, the Boruto manga written by the duo Ukyō Kodachi / Masashi Kishimoto and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto was pre-published between 2016 and 2023 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine published by Shueisha. Unsurprisingly, this official sequel benefited from an animated adaptation of 293 episodes produced by Studio Pierrot. But the Naruto universe has not yet revealed all its secrets. A new manga titled Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is being pre-published, still in Weekly Shonen Jump. No animated adaptation has yet been made official.
