Skybound Entertainment was co-founded by Robert Kirkman, creator of the Invincible comics. The company has now started a crowdfunding campaign on the Republic website to make the superhero adventure a reality. However, this is aimed more at investors in the entire company and less at gamers. So far the campaign has raised more than $440,000. The minimum goal of $50,000 has been significantly exceeded, but there is still a long way to go until the maximum of $5 million. If you want to invest, you now have until April 29th. However, you have to put at least 100 US dollars on the table (source: Republic).

Even $5 million might not be enough complete AAA game to develop. The crowdfunding campaign is probably only intended as an additional financial injection.
