A large number of series celebrated their debuts in the first four months of 2024, all of which are hot contenders for the title of “best series”. How good is Shogun really?
The reboot of the 1980s series (then starring Richard Chamberlain) debuted on Disney Plus in February 2024. As in the original and da novel by James Clavell everything is about the English navigator John Blackthornewho after a long journey was stranded in Japan in 1600 and was initially taken prisoner there.

Unfortunately, there are bad news for all Shogun fans: A second season of the series there won't be. Despite its great success, the showrunners want to stick to the original novel, so the tenth episode was the final finale.
