The sci-fi hit from Apple TV+
The more time passes, the more Apple TV+ stands out as an excellent alternative to the traditional streaming giants of Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. Apple's streaming platform has fewer programs, but nevertheless offers several high-quality films and series, notably Silo.
Adapted from the eponymous novel by Hugh Howey, Silo depicts a post-apocalyptic future in which the last survivors all live in a huge 144-story silo. The inhabitants of this strange place are forced to respect strict rules, or risk being sent to the surface to die. But little by little, doubt sets in and citizens begin to doubt their leaders and the state of the outside world.
Well produced and with a gripping storyline and a solid cast including Rebecca Ferguson in the lead, Silo received generally positive reviews after the broadcast of the first season. But the series has not yet revealed its full potential.
An exceptional season two?
If the first season of Silo convinced the public, its sequel could prove even more grandiose. At least that's what Hugh Howey, the author of the original books, seems to think, who has already been able to discover this season 2. “I saw season two and it's one of the best things I've ever seen. watched,” he said on Instagram. A laudatory comment, but which we prefer to be wary of in view of the author's position.
That being said, Hugh Howey also teased a potential release date for this second season, which should potentially have been broadcast from next year. While one Instagram user commented “this hurts for some of us who are going to have to wait until…at least 2025”. To which the author replied “maybe not so long…” We will therefore have to wait before having news of Silo season 2, but Hugh Howey's comments bode well for the return of the series.
