Why trainee OR editor? We have exactly one open editorial position and are simply looking for the person who best fits our team – regardless of professional experience. Have you worked for a reach-oriented website for several years? Then apply for the editor position. Are you fresh out of college? Then the trainee position is right for you.

Trainee: As a trainee, you will be trained to become a fully-fledged team member. We'll teach you how to research and prepare online articles so that they not only interest thousands of readers, but also entertain them. You will get to know all facets of online journalism – from short news to columns and features to large topic hubs. And of course you also attend press screenings and interview Hollywood stars – always with the aim of telling the most exciting stories about nerdy entertainment topics.

Editor: As an editor, you will become a full-fledged team member of Germany's largest games editorial team and will immediately get involved in the entire day-to-day editorial work. Together with us, you will design, produce and update a diverse range of online content that is read, seen and heard by thousands of gaming, film and series fans every day.

  • You research, write and edit articles such as news, opinions, features, reviews etc. for GameStar.de and enter them into a complex CMS

What we can look forward to

For the trainee position:

  • High school diploma and/or completed training
  • Practical journalistic experience in the media sector is an advantage – whether on a fan site, a blog or professionally
  • SEO knowledge and basic knowledge of content management systems is an advantage

For the editor position:

  • You have several years of professional experience in a reach-oriented online editorial team.
  • You understand how users get to websites (SEO, Discover, etc.) and what you have to do so that they not only read an article with us, but also stay longer and, above all, come back.

For both positions:

  • For you, the focus is not on what you like to watch, but rather which films and series the GameStar community would like to find out more about.
  • You are open to social media and new media and know what determines the trends on YouTube, Twitch and Tiktok.
  • Not only have you been passionate about series and films for as long as you can remember, but you've also absorbed every scrap of information about them – be it on Reddit, Tiktok or X.
  • You regularly think outside the box and are also interested in many other nerdy topics – whether games, comics or pen & paper.
  • Confidence in style, journalistic thinking and professional writing. You are able to convey even highly complex topics in an understandable and entertaining way.
  • You have a good feel for a language that is appropriate for the target group, excellent knowledge of German and very good knowledge of English.
  • You look forward to working as part of a dedicated team every day to create the best damn gaming and entertainment website in the galaxy!
