Xbox closes four studios, again

Does the brand Xbox is about to become the worst in the video game market ? Without doubt. While the branch of Microsoft had closed several studios recently, we could logically think that it was finally over and that we were no longer going to see dozens or even hundreds of people lose their jobs; especially after the acquisition of Activision and the several billion dollars spent on it. But that was without taking into account the incredible capacity of Xbox to only think about the big profits before thinking about humans.

We are tired of seeing the name of this horrible company thrown around. Since recently, whenever this is the case, we see talented people being “thanked” overnight without an official announcement. Today, it's the turn of four studios affiliated with ZeniMax and Bethesda to close their doors permanentlyto know Tango Gameworks (Hi-Fi Rush), Arkane Austin (Redfall), Alpha Dog Studios And Roundhouse Games. The announcement of these closures was made via a simple email, sent by Matt Bootyin charge of Xbox Game Studiosand recovered by IGN :

Today I'm sharing the changes we're making to our Bethesda and ZeniMax teams. These changes are based on prioritizing titles with big potential and further investment in our portfolio of beloved Bethesda hit games that you have enjoyed for many decades. To double down on these licenses and invest in creating new ones, we need to look across the entire business to identify the opportunities best positioned for success. This reprioritization of titles and resources means that some teams will be realigned with others and that some of our colleagues will leave us.

You read correctly, the studio behind Hi-Fi Rusha big recent critical success, is not considered by Xbox And Microsoft as a well-placed opportunity for success. In short, the American multi-billion dollar company continues to lay off employees with very vague and unacceptable justifications and we are starting to think that it is not over yet.

Our thoughts are obviously with all those people impacted by these closures and hope that their talents will be useful for a more respectful business in the future.
