Scientists have developed a color-changing film that customers can stick on purchased meats, such as sausages. It needs to be photographed, and the application will quickly determine the levels of preservatives known as nitrates and nitrites. They give sausages and bacon their characteristic pink hue and flavor, and can also cause tumors to develop. The more of them, the darker the film turns out.
