Entrapped on Netflix, crime from the cold

If Anthracite so fascinating, it is in particular thanks to its very particular atmosphere, immersed in the freezing climate of the French Alps. To find this polar atmosphere, you can give Icelandic style a chance Entrapped. In this thriller, constructed as a sequel to Trappedeven like a season 3, we find the character of Andri, a dark and solitary cop.

This investigator from Seyoisfjörour, a small coastal village in Iceland, is here confronted with three intertwined intrigues: an assassination committed in a sect, drug trafficking in a biker gang and the disappearance of a young girl who haunts him.

Entrapped finds everything that made the salt of Trapped : violent crimes, a detective obviously still tormented by his past and, above all, sumptuous Icelandic natural landscapes. Six episodes perfect for traveling into the great outdoors, with a touch of chilling unease, obviously.

The forest on Netflix, crime made in France

With The forestwe leave the AlpsAnthracite to cross all of France and land in the heart of the Ardennes. There, a young high school student disappears in a mysterious forest, just after calling her French teacher, who was herself found in the same place in her childhood…

Suzanne Clement (Mommy) and Samuel Labarthe (The Little Murders of Agatha Christie) lead this French investigation which focuses, as often, on the psychology of its characters and on secrets from the past which suddenly resurface.

Far from renewing the genre, The forest nevertheless distills its revelations with captivating mastery. A dark thriller to be recommended mainly to fans of stories of disappearances of all kinds, which populate our screens since the cardboard of Broadchurchin 2013.
