One of Xbox's biggest gaming fails is now a whole year old. The big comeback story has not materialized since then. The few remaining players now notice that promised content for Redfall still hasn't been delivered.
Shooters for Xbox and PC are still missing content
Redfall should have been the next big hit from Dishonored developer Arkane Studios. Instead, the vampire shooter for Xbox Series X|S and PC failed to impress anyone and failed lots of bugs and particularly boring gameplay for the launch. In our GIGA test it was still enough for 6.5 out of 10 possible points.

Since launching on May 2, 2023, Arkane Studios has worked on major issues and finally delivered a 60 FPS mode. However, content is still missing that players have already spent money on. Redfall's Bite Back Edition promises weapon and character skins as well as access to the Hero Pass with two new playable heroes. The Premium Edition is not a cheap treat. It costs 109.99 euros in the Xbox Store and 99.99 euros on Steam.

Redfall: Deader than any vampire?
There is still no trace of the two characters. The last major update for Redfall was released in November 2023. At that time, new information about the Hero Pass emerged promised next year. The official X account hasn't posted since April 2nd – not even a sign of life on the anniversary (Source: X/Twitter).
The players are increasingly annoyed by the ongoing radio silence. In the Redfall subreddit, some fans are voicing their displeasure and demanding answers. The Steam reviews for the Bite Back Upgrade also warn that this is simple is advertised with contentwhich do not yet exist and it is not known whether they will ever exist (Source: Reddit, Steam).

Redfall's current status doesn't reflect well on Xbox and Microsoft. After all, this isn't just about the future of the game and one possible comeback. Before that, promises that were made over a year ago still have to be kept.
