Windows 10 22H2 update size of cumulative updates is reduced like Windows 11

Microsoft has already made this change under Windows 11. Now Windows 10 22H2 is also following suit. The size of cumulative updates is reduced. Microsoft also gives an example. For KB5036892, the update was still 830 MB in size.

Yesterday's optional update KB5036979 reduced the cumulative update to 650 MB.

This reduces the bandwidth required, especially in companies, when these updates are distributed over the network. Starting with this optional update, Microsoft will now apply this reduction permanently.

I had to smile at the subheading “Windows 10 is becoming more and more like Windows 11”. After so much has already been backported from Windows 11 and a lot has been reversed back in Windows 11, this sentence is (for the most part) true.
